GPM

The Group of Companies GPM Planet conducts its activities since 2009 and works in the field of development of ecological technologies. Since this time the workers of the company continuously perform a large-scale scientific work in the field of research and creation of effective ecological technologies that can be applied in practice and allow to improve the quality of human’s life. We have obtained a great experience in cooperation with leading European and global engineering companies and scientific centers.
A significant interest is revealed in the process of these activities on the side of the market participants in use of modern sorption (cleaning) materials that allow to meet the strict requirements of environmental safety as well as significantly to improve the quality of the manufactured products. Activated carbon is the main such a material in the world today.
PRODUCTION COMPLEX
Currently, GPM Planet possesses a modern industrial complex with an area 9000 м2, which is located in Eastern Europe and meets the relevant environmental regulations. The production complex is characterized by convenient location and proximity to raw materials. In 2015, modernization of the complex was completed, allowing today to maximize the use of the available space up to 100%.

ECOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY
Study of experience and practices in manufacture of activated carbon by the leading global manufacturers results in a disappointing conclusion: the overwhelming majority of the leading manufacturers cause a significant harm to the ecology of the Planet simultaneously with creation of the product that is often of the highest quality and which use is directed to solution of ecological problems. First of all, it is connected with the methods of obtaining and preparation of the raw feedstock that is needed for its manufacture as well as with technological and manufacturing processes. Our Company has set itself the task to develop and implement in the manufacture process a new, in principle, technology of activated carbon manufacture that shall allow to prevent such a significant impact on the environment and that shall allow to manufacture at that activated carbon meeting the high standards set by the leading global manufacturers. In the process of our idea forming we have tested such conventional types of raw materials as: wood, peat, brown and mineral coal, coconut shell. Each of the types studied by us had both positive and negative components.
In the modern technologies a conventional raw material used for activated carbon manufacture (coconut shell, wood, peat, various types of coals) contains insufficient initial concentration of carbon and an additional carbonization process is required for its increase. It is an expensive and labour-intensive process consisting of 7-8 manufacturing operations that require an additional equipment. During this process volatile matters and tars accompanying the manufacturing process (more than 40% of the mass of the processed raw materials using any method of obtaining of activated carbon) are discharged to the atmosphere. In case of use of conventional technologies losses in feedstock mass to the obtained product are very significant. So, in case of use of coconut shell as a raw material the proportion of the activated carbon output is 6:1 (i.e., 6 tons of nutshell are needed for obtaining of 1 ton of activated carbon only). Proportion of the activated carbon output in case of wood use is 7:1, mineral coal – 2:1, brown coal – 9:1, peat – 10:1. Therefore, in case of use of the modern manufacturing technologies a vast portion of raw materials at the stage of its pre-preparation is thrown off as wastes that are, of course, significant pollutants of the environment. The main defect of each type of raw materials is ecological damage that is caused during the manufacturing process. This all results in some paradox for us: we pollute the environment already today in the process of obtaining and manufacturing of activated carbon that is intended for water and air cleaning in the future.
The technology of activated carbon obtaining of natural raw materials with a high level of metamorphism (a high value of carbon content) was developed, tested and patented summarizing the results of the work that was carried out during the period of several years by out Company jointly with a leading research center of the country. This technology has its unique advantages if to compare with conventional technologies of the basic manufacturers. These advantages provide real prospects for our product in the global market. Use of this type of raw material allows almost completely to exclude any adverse effect of the manufacturing process on the environment as well as prevent causing of any damage to the ecosystem of the Planet in the process of its obtaining and use. At that, a high efficiency and ecological safety of this type of activated carbon is combined with compliance with the quality of the best samples existing in the world. The result of this work is patented technology of innovative activated carbon manufacture that solves two main tasks set by us:
• A high quality of the obtained activated carbon
• Pollution-free technology of its manufacture
The characteristic of the obtained pilot batches demonstrates their compliance with the best brands of activated carbon manufactured by the leading global manufacturers. The pilot batches of the product are already tested in the research centers of the country. These tests have confirmed the declared parameters as well as the high quality of activated carbon. The product is also tested by one of the potential consumers of activated carbon – by “BVT Barrier” company in their own research center of the company. A forward contract for our activated carbon supply is signed according to the results of this test. Today we prepare for launching of our new technology as well as we develop and design a pollution free manufacturing cycle.
PRODUCTION AND RAW MATERIALS
Our raw materials for activated carbon are characterized by a high carbon content (more than 90%), low ash content (less than 3%), initially high strength (over 85%) and a low content of volatile substances (less than 5%), which allows us to expose such material to activation at once without performing carbonization and devolatilization activities.
The raw materials do not depend on the surrounding natural conditions, they are stable in their original quality and are convenient to transport.
The main competitive advantages:
  • raw feedstock has at least 90% of carbon in its structure;
  • no preliminary preparation needed to produce activated carbon;
  • raw materials are available at any time of the year and in any necessary quantity;
  • influence of natural or seasonal factors is excluded;
  • original quality is always stable;
  • convenient in transportation;
  • when procuring raw materials, no secondary waste remains and environmental pollution is excluded.
The main advantages of GPM Planet technology over traditional technologies:
GPM Planet technology uses raw materials, which already contain up to 90% of carbon in their structure and do not require preliminary preparation activities.
The operating procedure consists of only 4 operations, while production that uses traditional technologies needs at least 11 operations.
Weight loss of the main raw materials as compared to the resulting products is no more than 20-25%.
During activation process, no volatile substances and resins are released into the atmosphere.
The operating procedure is eco-friendly.
QUALITY
The important quality factor of the activated carbon produced is its compliance with the international requirements, in particular, the standards of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS). The certificate of the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) – an international non-profit organization founded in the USA and operating in several dozens of countries – is also a very significant fact.
